Better Girl

You met Laura Randall in "Good Girl." Now it's five years later, and strong-willed Laura is faced with new challenges at the age of seventeen. Following a vacation to watch the 1969 launch of Apollo 11, she learns that the family is moving to Florida at the beginning of her senior year of high school. Being uprooted at such a pivotal time in her life, Laura must cope with leaving her past behind and beginning again . . . which she sees as both an opportunity and a curse. As she navigates the demands of a new school that's filled with cultural differences, she struggles to make new friends and find love. But the looming question is, what will she do once she graduates? Raised in an abusive household, with the understanding that college is out of the question, Laura must figure out how to become an independent young woman.
