Born in Mao's era, Lin Ying grew up with her father, who was labeled as 'landlord', and therefore couldn't lift his head in the society. Lin Ying was brainwashed and betrayed her father during the Great Cultural Revolution. She then went to a remote rural area, where she came to regret her betrayal to her father. Ten years later Lin Ying went back home, with good news, to see her father, hoping to be forgiven, however. . .. . .
