Benji Beast and Other Lives is Nicholas Bonarski's first collection of poetry and short stories, written across a 4 year span chronicling a one-sided love affair with the Moon, drunkenness on the streets of imaginary Paris, and a meandering trudge through the desert, searching for meaning, and even a way out of Hell itself, in the backyard of Bonarski's heart. This collection is filled with vitriol and passion, obsession and an ornate, youthful arrogance that sets itself apart from the world in favor of its own. Individualistic and at times narcissistic, Benji Beast is a story of longing for acceptance, the desire for love by one who believes himself damned, and the way his character finds itself out.
