Beskrivelse
We describe the intraspecific and interspecific social and reproductive behavior in poor and enriched environments of five species belonging to three different genera of birds of the Psittaciformes Order: Agapornis fischeri (Lovebird Fischer), Agapornis personatus (Lovebird Personata), Agapornis roseicollis (Lovebird Roseicolli), Melopsittacus undulatus (Australian Parakeet) and Nymphicus hollandicus (Cockatiel). We observed cases of homosexuality, polygamy, need for social interaction, lack of parental care and mourning. It can be concluded that they are docile birds that are easy to handle and can be kept in the same enclosure as long as it does not offer reproductive stimuli to the birds.
