When the Lord sent Moses into Egypt to confront Pharaoh and bring his people out of slavery, he called Israel "My Firstborn Son." Hidden in an obscure passage in the book of Numbers lies a minor historical event that later proved to be of tremendous spiritual consequence for the life of Israel.
