Before and After Zachariah

Zachariah is so beautiful that it takes your breath away. He is also brain-damaged. This story is not about the disguised blessings that "special" children bring to their families or about how tragedies strengthen family relationships. It is a gripping, realistic look at how the birth of Zachariah wreaked havoc on the lives of his parents and sister. This is a story of tremendous courage as the Kupfers decide to have Zach cared for in a residential facility. Here we learn that there are alternatives and that they, too, are honorable.
