"We heard a dance party was in order," my mom said. Just hearing her voice made me realize how much I missed her. She'd been driving me crazy during this, but she was still my mom, and I needed her right now.

I hurried to the front of the store, where my mom, grandma, sister, and nieces were all standing. I was surrounded by the women in my life that I loved and adored, my family. I didn't realize I was crying until I pulled back from my mom's embrace, and my mom wiped the tears from my cheeks.
