If the Bible was inspired by God, then the truth will be found there, not in theological essays written by the so-called 'fathers' of the Church. If the Bible was not inspired, then how can anyone ascertain anything relevant to Christianity? The only father of the Church is Yehoshua (Jesus) not Augustine or others.
