Cara is a seventeen-year-old homeless high school senior, scarred on her face and in her soul, who is invited to live with a friend. One evening, Cara and a younger girl are alone and suffer a violent home invasion The two perpetrators are killed, but the coroner says no human could cause such severe injuries.



After years of living below the radar, she finds herself under unwanted scrutiny. With the help of some unlikely allies, she must face a suspicious detective, a wrathful FBI special agent, and an angry Russian mob boss.
