Beach Glass and Bottle Tops

Self Expression is essential to human existence. This expression is unique to the individual and can tell a story or elicit a feeling. The title of this book "Beach Glass and Bottle Tops" comes from collecting beach glass , shells and bottle tops for creating my mosaics and multimedia art. This book of poetry and artworks follows my first book of poems and paintings, "Shoe Strings and Collar Buttons." Beach Glass and Bottle Tops comes from my many trips to the beaches around the world. In my first book, "Shoestrings and Collar Buttons", you read a little bit about my family history and a perception of the world from a child's eyes "I Will Always Be a Child". Here, in "Beach Glass and Bottle Tops", I have included poetry that is more mature. "Keepin the Riff" is about getting a pink slip, travels and experiences of an older person and the changes in health, society because of terror attacks and the pandemic are reflected in "What is Your ID?" and "Hugs". I have published poetry on various websites, as well as hard cover anthologies, continuing to learn, write and share my poems with my wonderful children, grandchildren, mentors and teachers. "Beach Glass and Bottle Tops" also includes many illustrations and some glass mosaics that I have enjoyed making over the years. As you leaf through this book you will notice that several of the paintings and mosaics are parts of larger works. There is the "Women's Prayer Circle " which is comprised of ten cartouches in which one is represented by the birth of the first Human. There are new paintings and older ones included in the book along with poetry that has been written over 40 years.
