Teacher Elizabeth Hemingway couldn't wait to marry the man of her dreams. Tyrone has a good job, a house in rural Indiana, and a huge extended family that Elizabeth doesn't have. The young couple couldn't have been any more in love. However, a few months into the marriage, things turn sour. Tyrone transforms into another man, a man Elizabeth doesn't recognize. Seven years later, Elizabeth can no longer deal with Tyrone and his abusive behavior. She makes the tough decision to file for divorce and returns with her two young children to her hometown. However, Elizabeth's peaceful plans don't go the way she intends. Tyrone decides he wants custody of their children.
