Basic introduction to corrosion and its forms of control

Due to the danger and damage that corrosion can generate, it is important for all engineering disciplines to know the basic principles, types of corrosion and mitigation of it. For this reason, this document presents in summary form, a bibliographic review of specialized works and academic material published to understand these phenomena. This document does not represent a solution to the damage generated by corrosion; this only shows in summary form, the definitions of corrosion, its types of attack and some of its control forms.
