Beskrivelse
The book encompasses the important concepts ranging from the emergence and growth of sociology as a science covering the principles of sociology, general sociology, applications of sociology to mention a few. This book consists of twelve chapters which run across various sociological concepts including society, culture, social groups, population, family, marriage, social stratification, communities, social change, social organization and system, social control and social problems. In order to be objective in the explanation of sociological concepts, sentences and statements of various sociologists has been profusely quoted in the book. Hence, as authors we do not wish to claim any originality to many of the ideas and descriptions in the book but with all humility, we can say that the matter has been presented in our own way. We are also aware of the inadequacies of the volume and prefer to improve and enlarge the same given sufficient time and resources with more empirical evidences and literature.
