Barefoot NOMAD is an autobiography written by Ted Gilbert, native of Parkfield, California. Take a vicarious adventure into his past, which includes growing up during WWII, serving in the Army, and traveling the world while working in the oil industry.There has been rhetoric pertaining to or explaining the purpose of this "opus magnum." It is to remind us of the old clich "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." (George Santayana, 1863-1952) This can be good or bad.I originally wanted this book to be for the enlightenment of my family and future offspring; they need to know about their ancestors and learn from my story. Then I thought: If you're going to spend the time for the family, you might as well remind the public of the past and educate young people. Barefoot NOMAD is valuable information for everyone.
