For this edition of Matador's Artist's Portfolio series, Spanish painter Miquel Barcel (born 1957) presents four series made between 2009-2010. In these series Barcel paints without paint, instead using bleach and soot, which he applies to black paper and canvases. The bleach "develops" the image by removing its background.
