"Balt Castiglione" plunges you into a post-apocalyptic world, one that will follow the next world war, imagined by William Kergroach. Through the eyes of the narrator, an aging man, we discover Balt Castiglione, heir to the great Baldassare Castiglione of the Renaissance. After the third world war, Balt leads a community of survivors in Eagle Hill, one of the few remaining havens in a devastated world. Formerly an underground military camp intended to shelter the governor and his staff in the event of nuclear conflict, Eagle Hill becomes a symbol of hope for rebuilding civilization.
In his quest for cultural exchange, Balt brings a copy of "Il libro del Cortegiano," a masterpiece of education by his illustrious ancestor, from Europe in the hope of forging connections with other communities and revitalizing Eagle Hill.
