Beskrivelse
The ultimate goal of human life is to achieve health (happiness) at three levels - physical, mental and spiritual. To achieve this, we must pursue the four Purusharthas - Dharma, Artha, Kaam and Moksha. The world is now in pursuit of only two of those, Artha and Kaam - which mean earning money and fulfilment of desires. Indian philosophy teaches us that unless Dharma (performing duties within legal and moral framework) is the means to Artha and Kaam with an aim to attain Moksha (Bliss), there will not be real health and happiness at either the individual or global level. Modern medicine considers the human being as a machine made up of bones and flesh comprising of many organs and systems. It knows very little about the mind and nothing about the soul. Dharma and Moksha are unknown entities. All branches of medical science will remain incomplete and imperfect unless it knows its subject - the human body - and its purpose with complete understanding. Today, modern medicine is nothing more than a massive business venture by multi-national pharma and other health industries revolving around patents and profits. Ayurveda is a complete and eternal science of human life, for the real benefit of mankind, and having the aim to achieve not only physical and mental health, but also spiritual health, which ultimately leads to Moksha.
