When aging witch Hester Habbakuk discovers her young nephews are being stalked by a monster, she enlists the aid of Gerber the grumpy supernatural hedgehog, Fred the homunculus, Hester's eccentric brother Carlisle, and fellow witch Betty Freier. Together they combine forces to fight an ancient enemy, one who has tracked Hester's family through the centuries to exact bloody revenge.
