Bert is a larger than life protagonist who lives in a universe that is out to get him. He is a loser at love and a failure in life, who decides to garner good luck for himself by finding a girlfriend for his perfect yet lonely best friend, Jack. While on the hunt for good luck, Bert suffers dark and shocking hardships. His life is threatened, he gets kidnapped, he falls into a coma, and wakes up in serious trouble.
