As Jan Eastland writes in her new memoir, the word "no" oftentimes goes missing from her vocabulary. When she was discouraged from enrolling in high school owing to her cerebral palsy, Eastland did so anyway. She embraced life's challenges and didn't let her condition define her. This new inspirational autobiography will encourage anyone struggling with similar issues. Eastland learned how to live with her limitations and overcome many of the obstacles created by them, and she knows that you can do the same. Her work illustrates that with a positive attitude and strong support system, people with disabilities can also lead full, rich lives.
In Assorted Nuts, Eastland not only recounts her own journey but pays tribute to the many West Texas residents she met along the way. Each had something new to teach her about positivity and perseverance. These "assorted nuts" gave her support, advice, comfort, and laughter during her most difficult challenges. Though Eastland has demonstrated amazing dedication during her struggle with cerebral palsy, she acknowledges that she certainly couldn't have done it all on her own. She's eager to introduce you to the wonderful people who helped her along the way.
