Aset

Musical score to Aset (for Speaker and Prepared Piano) by avant-garde composer Dawn K. Williams. The piece is a setting of an ancient Egyptian hymn to the goddess Isis, inscribed in hieroglyphs on a wall of the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae. The speaker may be either male or female, and the piano is prepared with rulers and binder clips placed on the strings. A translation of the text and full instructions to the performers, including full-color photographs of sample piano preparations, are included in this composer authorized score.
