Beskrivelse
This book includes twenty-six full-color images of original art - six images of photographic art depicting the moon - along with thirty-seven original poems. I would describe my style of art as abstract and impressionistic. My artistic journey began over twenty-seven years ago by colorizing old black-and-white engravings that were acquired for our antique shop. I spent several months at this endeavor. That was my initial introduction to art. After that, I progressed to original compositions with my father's encouragement. He would buy me art supplies, and I would stare at blank canvases until something magical would begin to happen. It was as if I were transported into a different reality, the thrill of being at the threshold of sublime creativity. My desire was to bring forth original and unique artistic expressions. I would paint for three months in the springtime from the back porch of our antique shop. This effort continued for about three years. Much of the results of that activity is displayed in this book. Along with the art, I also developed an interest in poetry, which began about the same time. Writing poems helped me to relax and provided another outlet for my thoughts and ideas. In addition, I've always been fascinated by the moon, and had a rare opportunity to capture some truly amazing images during a lunar eclipse many years ago. In summation, this book ultimately represents the unexpected, creative side of my nature.
