Beskrivelse
Applied Chemistry for Environmental Engineering will provide further practical insight into how the principles of environmental chemistry, presented in their first book, Environmental Chemistry, can be applied to the measurement and observed effects of chemical pollution and toxins that have been introduced in the environmenta "and what can be done to prevent or abate those problems.
The book covers both atmospheric and water pollution as well as ground pollution. A separate chapter reviews the essentials of nuclear and radioactive chemistry and their effects on the environment. Important concepts in environmental toxicity are also presented, including the dose-response relationship. Finally, the book presents a list of special topics of interest to environmental chemistry, including plastics in the ocean, persistence of arsenic in the soil and water, the fundamentals of sulfur and carbon credits markets, and lessons from four famous environmental disasters.
