The numerical growth and development of the local church is a complex subject. The same might be said where there is a decline. A local church cannot redeem a situation where it has made no effort to understand its position. This study defines strategic thinking as an attitude of mind towards the overall life and ministry of a church. It is about a partnership between God and his local gathered community, the church. It is meant to be a creative partnership whereby, with God's help, any local church can be enabled to discern what needs to be done in order to bring about growth.
