Antiguan Roots

At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Duke family was a well-respected family on the Caribbean island of Antigua. Dr Mansergh Duke was a pillar of the local church. During the First World War his eldest sons fought in the army and navy. Then in December 1917 his eldest daughter fell pregnant. The family had to act fast to preserve its good name.
