Beskrivelse

As an avid student of the Holy Scriptures and of the Word of God, I have come to realize that there are some literary works that need to be brought forth and preserved for future generations; some of these works need to be elaborated on to a further extent than they currently reside, and this is one such literary manuscript. It is the intention of this author/editor to do just that. (RKT, author/editor, 2017.) Angels have been a popular subject in recent days. Though Finis Jennings Dake never actually wrote a book exclusively on this theme, his many writings, including the extensive commentary notes in the Dake Annotated Reference Bible and the massive text of Gods' Plan for Man, have touched on angels repeatedly. As with any subject, if the Bible spoke at length on it, so did Dake. As an unofficial member of his extended family, this author/editor is convinced that if he were alive today, he would want to address this issue. Not to disparage the popular style of many of the books on angels currently available, the author/editor believes Finis Dake would want to approach the subject in his exclusively biblical fashion. As always, he would take the Bible literally, and give "two or three plain Scriptures" to support his points. Hence, this manuscript, Angels: In His Majesty's Service. The thoughts are Dake's own, as is a significant portion of the text. However, because the material is a compilation from his other writings, portions of the narrative have been constructed, re-constructed, in order to provide a necessary flow from point to point. Also, the author/editor felt it would be helpful to quote as many verses as possible, rather than simply give all the references parenthetically. In order to accomplish this, additional pieces of narrative were written for the sake of transition between supporting verses. All in all though, this is a manuscript that the author/editor believes Finis Jennings Dake would have written himself if he were still alive today. Therefore, as an unofficial extended member of the Dake Family, the Editor/Author offers Angels: In His Majesty's Service with the conviction that Finis Jennings Dake is a man like Abel, who though "being dead yet speaketh" (Heb. 11:4). Rev. Dr. Robert K. Teske, Jr., D.D. Turning Point Church and Ministries - A Home Church Kasson, Minnesota - October 2017
