Ten-year-old Amber Lee has been through a lot for someone so young. A survivor of neglect, abuse and instability, she is still reeling from the shocking death of her mother. She is haunted by flashbacks and a terrifying, mysterious voice that torments her. Her only hope now is to move in with her Uncle Raymond, a psychologist from an exclusive neighborhood in a Philadelphia suburb.
