This book is the third volume in the Pre-Addiction Educational Series: Starting Conversations ASAP with Amanda, this volume gives caregivers, parents and mental health professionals the tools for families that are separated through the recovery process from each other. As with the other books of the series it's designed to be interactive with caregiver reading to the child. Research demonstrates that when these interactions between caregiver and child happens the child has better cognitive development and is less likely to find themselves in recovery themselves as they move into adulthood. Amanda and Her Mother Enter Into a Lifetime of Treatment is a walk through the recovery process. This story helps the child in care to explore some of the many feelings they are feeling while the parent is a way in residential or day treatment and eventually as the person in recovery moves into recovery meetings.
