Llamas are known as the peculiar, long-necked animals that infamously spit and sometimes hum. They're often confused for Alpacas, their close relatives, both are members of a group called camelids, which also includes camels.
The Alpaca and the Llama were both domesticated several thousand years ago by the people of the Andes Mountains of South America. They were treasured by the ancient Inca civilization.
