Thank you for your interest in my story. I have decided to share my journey with the hope that you will be encouraged and find Faith, Hope, & Love for your own journey. I try to be as candid as possible, which at times may seem like a little too much information, but I have been amazed at how my honesty and transparency have ministered to so many. I grew up in small town Texas. Life was very uneventful and routine. One of the most exciting things in our town was when the high school football and basketball teams would make a run to the state play offs. Everyone knows everyone in Silsbee, TX and most of us are related in one way or another. I grew up with an amazing family: Mama, Daddy, and three older brothers. I am the baby, and the only girl. I grew up in the church and was raised to love God. At an early age I felt the Lord call me into missions. Little did I know that I would one day live many years in Africa with my husband and youngest daughter. My husband, Jerry & I have been married for over 20 years now. He is the most perfect example of Jesus I have ever seen. I have two daughters, Haeley and Arden. Haeley is married to a wonderful, Godly man, Joel. Arden is in college. We have one daughter, Cynthia, here from Kenya who lived with us while we were there, and still have a family in Kenya who we love and support and pray one day will also be with us here in the states. We have an amazing life. We are so blessed. In December 2013 I was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer. What a shocking turn of events Since then I have learned more about the character and nature of God than I ever thought possible. I have learned that in my weakness His strength is made perfect. I am so thankful for this journey. It is my greatest desire that this journey not be in vain, but that God will be glorified even in this most difficult time. As you share this journey of life with me please feel free to laugh, cry, scream, shout, and share. Please be encouraged. Please allow yourself to trust that His ways are perfect. Most importantly, please remember that God is Good and He does all things well.
