I was sitting in my yoga studio in 2007, right after a heated discussion with the yoga students I was training for their 200 hour certification. Does yoga and Christian Biblical beliefs agree or disagree? Is a Christian going against their religion by practicing yoga? This question plagued me, just a few weeks before I had been baptized for the 3rd time in my life, rededicating my life to Jesus Christ, and yet there I was training yoga teachers and sharing the yoga sutras. For me personally yoga had saved my life, helped me heal physically and mentally from trauma and illness. I knew it had helped me feel closer to God. Yet, I could not say for certain how the science, philosophy or spiritual practice of yoga and the teachings of the Bible went together.
