This book is intended for children who are new to reading. It is also aimed at older children who are writing stories of their own. The book is accompanied by webpages that offer examples of how to transform a narrative into a script or screenplay. A storyboard of Alf is also included. This project is intended to encourage young people to write, draw, and exercise their imaginations. Online is an eBook version that includes a voiceover and sound effects, this can be viewed at: www.cazu.co.uk/alfstory Alf's tale is loosely based on a true story. Alf came into my life under the misplaced delusion that he had been born to be an upper-class dog. He soon learned how to survive among farm and boatyard dogs. He drove me crazy, he often went walk-about, chased sheep, stole food, attacked postmen, and got into fights with other dogs. When Alf died it broke my heart. I would like to dedicate this book to all of the dogs that have enriched my own life, and to those people and kids who are lucky enough to share their time and love with dogs of their own.
