Resembling laboratories or complex machines, the lavish installations of Munich-based artist Albert Hien (born 1956), twice featured in Documenta, take the idea of technical progress to the point of absurdity. Scultura Poetica looks at his early works, including the Grotteschi series of 1982-83 and the Tische (Tables) of 1987-88.
