Beskrivelse
In a previous paper (Fair et al., 2023) we described action research data collection methods used by a group of teachers in an Alternative Education setting in New Zealand. Alternative Education is a setting for students who have been disenfranchised from mainstream schools. The data collection methods (photovoice, journalling, go-along interviews and talanoa were utilised during the Action Research Reconnaissance Phase. The purpose of collecting stories was to 'give voice' to students' critical moments of schooling. The data from the students' stories led to the Implementation Phase of the Action Research project. Teachers developed plans and then implemented improvements to teaching and learning experiences for students. In this paper, we outline a sample of the teachers' own plans, followed by their initial reflections and evaluations on how improvements were carried out.
