Clouds and Music blend in the stormy skies of a troubled Ireland. The perceptions of Aisling and Aidan entwine amidst a turbulent social and political backdrop: the Tommy Gun versus the harp; the everpresent shadow of The Famine hovering above a seething emotional landscape.
Aisling's liberal sense of independent thought and action conflict with what is expected of her, yet her wealthy background and arrogant sense of entitlement melt in the face of her feelings for intelligent and wily Aidan, who must somehow claw his way out of Dublin poverty.
Can their closeness survive the short six years of the Rebellion, the War of Independence and the bitter Irish Civil War, where sides are taken, families divided, friends and relationships shattered, and counties are in conflict?
