Agricultural Business and Investment Climate in Kenya Survey Report

In 2010, the GTZ program ¿Private Sector Development in Agriculture (PSDA)¿ in cooperation with the Agricultural Sector Coordination Unit (ASCU) developed and tested the tool of an Agricultural Business and Investment Climate (ABIC) Survey. This survey was reiterated in 2013 to find out about the changes in agricultural business and investment climate in Kenya. Entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector need to calculate and valuate business options almost on a day to day basis. Producers, processors and traders in all kinds of food and raw material commodity value chains need to decide whether to buy or sell at a certain price, whether to employ labour support or not, whether to invest into new produce lines or to better exploit the current ones.
