I hear you. What does the census say?
I am one soldier listed,
perished at Abbeville.
These 21 poems are a poignant reflection on the effect of war and conflict. The soldier on the battlefield, knowing that he will not be coming home; a cavalryman; a seaman; a pilot determined not to finish his life on France's clay soiled land; a Scottish warrior in the glen with his faithful hound at his side... loved ones and sweethearts left behind. Also included are reflections on the life of the suffragette, Emmeline Pankhurst, and Bertram Wright on his return from flying, together with a light-hearted poem around Virginia Woolf's 'Skinny Dipping with Rupert', and even the love between a black panther and a cockatoo.
