In Islam, tradition eclipsed revelation. Tradition became as, if not more prominent than revelation. This is evident from expressions as "tradition judges revelation" and that "revelation requires tradition more than tradition requires revelation." Such perceptions, apart from their irreverence, are expressions of the reversal of the relationship between revelation and tradition.
