Advanced Sustainable Forest Management

This book covers advances made in Sustainable Forest Management (SFM). Although it is an old concept, its popularity has grown in the last few decades due to the public concern regarding the significant decline in forest resources. The implementation of SFM is usually achieved with the help of criteria and indicators (C&I). A number of countries have developed their own sets of C&Is. The book covers some of the current researches carried out to test the recent indicators, to look for new indicators and to establish new markers. It contains original research studies on biodiversity, carbon & forest resources, forest health and productive & protective functions. These studies highlight the recent researches done to provide forest managers with effective tools for choosing between distinct management strategies of improving indicators of SFM.
