Today, industries such as microelectronics depends on inorganic chemical techniques for producing high purity films on single crystal chips. Their, however, is just the tip of the iceberg. With intensified funding in research and improving tools and techniques, the scope of inorganic chemistry is continually widening to bring within purview such issues such as understanding the role of transition metals in the biochemical catalysts called enzymes. Inorganic chemistry, the study of all the elements and their compounds with the exception of carbon and its compounds, which fall under the category of organic chemistry. Inorganic chemistry is significant in all modern areas of life and science. It represents one of the fastest growing and exciting areas of scientific research.
