This book contains a collection of articles written by Karel Wauters, professor emeritus in Dutch literature at the University of Antwerp. They illustrate his interest in the literature and musical life in Flanders from the 19th century to the period between the two World Wars. Through a wide approach, Wauters links texts, authors and cultural phenomena of this region to the literature, music and spiritual life of Europe.
