Beskrivelse

Like time spent exposing preschoolers to classical music, this short sketch is meant to influence children ages 3-5 by expanding their ability to experience life and the world around them. Although written in an advanced style peppered with names and dates, its agenda is to provide a reliable framework for future development of very young minds. The author has been a professional writer for trade journals and associations. The design of this work and its content was inspired by National Research Council educational publications. These led the author to believe a framework of this kind will be beneficial and can be tested and improved over time. Reading this content aloud in a shared setting is expected to provoke a questioning mindset while valorizing the actual practice of science. This book is expected to be absorbed in personally unique ways by each child and to provide them with a proud and very human story of efforts made to understand the reality we all share. The proposition that children should approach science classes in school as an opportunity to engage in doing science themselves originates in the NRC research and the latest science standards. That is why this work provides gateway-ideas, rather than answers, and illustrates how good answers lead to new questions.
