Sara Hansen knows her kidnaper is not finished with her. After receiving a note from The Author, she knows she has to be careful, whatever she does. But The Author is closer to her then she expects. And for some mysterious reason, Caitlin, Maxwell's ex-girlfriend, keeps popping up in Sara's life. Nothing makes sense, but it's Sara's job to figure it out. With everything happening, anyone could be The Author. Along with the passages that she keeps getting, bad things start to happen to her and to everyone she holds dear.
