The author Stephan Menzel provides an introduction into capacitor technology and describes the wide range of capacitor types with their properties and parameters. The book can be used as an introduction for students or for refreshing and consolidating knowledge of capacitors and their use in assemblies. The 'Abc of Capacitors' is a reference book that concisely presents the relationships and technical characteristics in capacitor technology. At the beginning the relationships between electric field and permittivity, as well as the structure and operating principle of a capacitor are introduced. The electric parameters and characteristics and their relationships are outlined, such that users know what they have to consider in selecting capacitors. There follows a detailed overview of the existing capacitor types and a bibliography.
