Maliciously destroyed grapevines combined with the shotgun murder of a vineyard manager present P.I. Phil Oxnard with a double-barreled mystery. The investigation takes him and his wife, Paula, from Southern California's Temecula Valley to the vineyards of the Sierra foothills in search of evidence that will vindicate a young man accused of murder.
