A Wonderful, Terrible Birthday

As Nathan Hopper's eightieth birthday nears, he is terrified by what awaits him. Decades earlier, Nathan had returned from World War II an American hero, or so it might have appeared. Inwardly, tragedy and a flailing relationship weighed heavy on him. One evening Nathan encounters an enchanting woman with a unique proposition that could change his life's course. Nathan's response to the woman would shape the rest of his days- including the friends he would make, the woman he would love, and the woman he would abhor.
