"Poetry is that vast space between the words where silence sings and we dance."
Poetry is definitely different from prose.
Prose demands more resolution, while poetry creates vast and open spaces where our minds can roam freely.
This book is a compilation of poems that came to me during a long span of time. Some of these poems have previously appeared in other books, such as 'Pay Attention! Be Alert! Discovering Your Route to Happiness,' and my 6-book series, 'A Better Life in a Better World.'
I felt it made sense to put them all together in one book. In my view, the poems give expression to what I called 'The Ten Ss', which lists the elements we bring to the mindfulness practice and the possible outcomes of our journeys headed for awakening.
Silence, Slowness, Stillness, Solitude, and Simplicity are the fundamental ingredients of the mindfulness practice, and Spaciousness, Serenity, Selflessness, Surrender, and Service to others are its promising outcomes.
As you read the poems in this book, I invite you to reflect on how each one of them gives expression to 'The Ten Ss.'
