Beskrivelse
It is World War II and Geny's fiancé has left to fight overseas. After he is gone, however, she discovers something unexpected: she is pregnant, and in the 1940s, out-of-wedlock births are not acceptable. Her only choice is to hide the pregnancy and wait for her fiancé to return. But some soldiers never come home and Geny just can’t raise this baby on her own. Now that her fiancé has been declared KIA, adoption seems the only way out. Then, weeks after she has given birth, her fiancé is found alive...and he isn't sure he can ever forgive her for giving their daughter away. And try as she might, Geny can’t find her.
Years pass, and Geny’s daughter grows into adulthood happy, ignorant of her past until both of her adoptive parents perish in a tragic car accident. That’s when she learns she was adopted and becomes determined to find the only family she has left: her birth mother and father. Little does she know, her mother is looking for her too.
A Time to Weep, A Time to Laugh is about two parents' search for the daughter they lost so long ago and one girl’s hope she can find a new family in the wake of tragedy.
