Have you ever dreamed of leaving it all behind, moving to a foreign country where no one knows you, and re-inventing yourself from scratch? That is exactly what Kevin Carrel Footer did in 1992 when he moved to Buenos Aires from his native California. Determined to use this change of venue to turn himself into both a writer and a tango dancer, he soon got swept up in the intense passions of Buenos Aires -- until it was too late to turn back. In 2001, he began to publish his quirky, intimate and often sensual musings about life in Argentina in the Buenos Aires Herald. Working within the confines of a weekly deadline and 15 column inches, he created a genre that he describes as "little epiphanies." Part memoir, part snapshot, these small works form a portrait of life in Buenos Aires when stitched together. It is a world that is often obscured behind the glamour and bustle of this thriving metropolis. All the while and between the lines, amid the romances, the solitude and the nights of tango, you discover a young man coming of age.
