Sin left everything to me except what I needed most: him. I may be capable of reaching my goals, but what good are dreams without the people I cherish most? Friend or lover, I wanted him in my life. I wanted to progress while he watched me with that cheeky glint in those soulful eyes, but Sin was hurt and lost, and my achievements felt pointless without him sharing my success.

We've chosen our paths, and I have to keep moving forward.

This choice was a paradox of good and bad, a light of hope and a consuming shadow. Jae has always been strong; she just needed to know herself better, and now that she does, there was no need for me to guide her.

Really, what kind of guide could I be anyway? I'm no shining example of humanity, only a shell of a man who has used every misdirect and manipulative trick in the book to survive. I'm no longer allowed the luxury of dreams, but my every stolen moment of fantasy belonged to her.
